Registration FAQs

1. What is the registration process like?

  • Step 1: Go to the Wilderness Courses page and click on the program you would like to register for.
  • Step 2: Follow the link, complete the online registration form and pay your deposit to secure a spot in a course.
  • Step 3: Receive the confirmation email saying that Coldwater received your registration and payment.
  • Step 4: Through the link in that confirmation email, log back into your online account to complete the Supplemental Health History Form.
  • Step 5: At any time, pay your balance in full at least two weeks prior to your trip.


2. Is the full cost of the trip due at the time of registration?
Just the deposit is due.  Your full balance is due when you arrive at Mink Lake prior to your trip.


3.What information is needed to apply?
In order to complete the registration form, you just need basic information and a name and phone number for your emergency contact. When you complete the Supplemental Health History Form, you will need the participant’s health card number.


4. How long before I hear back about the registration?
After submitting the online registration form, you should receive the initial confirmation email, and then you probably won’t hear from Coldwater again until about two weeks prior to your trip. This email will include transportation and arrival details.


5. When will I receive a specific packing list for the trip, and other important trip details?
The packing list can be found on the Prepare for your Trip page, so you can view it at any time! Otherwise, again important information regarding your trip will be emailed to you about two weeks before your trip. And of course, you can always contact us directly with any concerns you may have.


6. What options are there if we cannot afford the full price of registration?
If you cannot afford the full price of registration we have a scholarship program and a fundraiser opportunity available for you.  We ask that you complete the online registration form for the program you would like to participate in and submit without payment. Then email us at to request a sponsorship application worksheet. That begins the process.   You will be notified of what scholarship money will be awarded and how to begin with fundraising!
